Why should I visit a private medical centre?

When you need treatment or health advice, finding time to visit your family doctor can be a challenge. Clearly, the sooner you're treated, the sooner you'll feel better and be more productive. We're on hand to help.

What if I'm registered with an NHS GP?

Many of our patients visit us when it's not possible to see their NHS GP quickly. We aim to complement the role of your family doctor. If you wish, we can send copies of results or investigations to your family doctor.

Do I have to pay when I visit the private GP?

Private primary care is not funded by the NHS but patients will find our rates very competitive. If the doctor thinks you require tests, you'll be advised of the costs and can make the decision to proceed. We understand most people haven't accessed private primary care, but we're nothing like peoples' idea of 'stuffy private doctors' - visit our centre and see for yourself!

What if I need a prescription?

Our GPs can write a private script and to save you time, you can purchase most medications at our centres, or take the script to a high street pharmacy. The prices depend on the cost of the specific drug but our charges are often similar to medications available via NHS prescriptions.

Are GenMed doctors well qualified?

Our employed doctors are GPs (Members of the Royal College of General Practitioners) and undergo regular assessments and continuous training programmes to keep them abreast of the latest clinical best-practice. Our GP team is London based has strong links with a wide range of specialists, enabling faster access to Consultants and for investigations.

What happens during the GP appointment?

We allocate 15 minutes giving you time to talk and the doctor time to listen and treat you as an individual and help you make informed health choices. We believe a good doctor/patient relationship is vital and our established team offers 'continuity of care' so you can see the same clinician time and again.

Make an appointment for a MASTA travel consultation for the latest updates on international health issues. Our nurse will ensure you are suitably informed and protected and you will receive reminders when any 'boosters' are due. Prices for all the travel vaccinations and medications are available at the centre.

My employer uses the centre for business health services, will my manager know why I’ve seen the GP?
